The discount is deepest where list prices are highest and the installed base is large: HPLC stacks, GC systems, vacuum pumps, chillers, and controllers. Depreciation logic mirrors cars — the first owner absorbs the steepest value drop, while the working life left in the instrument declines far more slowly.
